[Merlin's right about that one: most people in Japan don't legally carry weapons. In fact, outside of a museum, it's pretty rare to see anything other than decorative swords around. And certainly nobody is carrying a decorative sword on their waist.]

I also have the good sense to not make a big deal about it, so most people don't even realize I'm carrying it.
